During Office Hours
- Call us at 206-685-1011. If you think you have a fever, be sure to take your temperature before calling. You can purchase a thermometer at the Husky Health Pharmacy, other local pharmacies, or online.
After Hours
- For urgent medical questions after Husky Health is closed, call the 24-hour Community Care Line at 206-520-7511. When you call, please remain on the line in order to be connected with a nurse; do not press 1 for the virtual clinic.
- For mental health concerns, call the King County Crisis Clinic at 206-461-3222.
Eligibility
Currently-matriculated UW Seattle students are eligible for no-cost medical advice.
If you are a UW staff or community member who is not a current student or established patient, contact your primary care provider for medical advice, or schedule an appointment with us to establish care. Many insurance plans, including Kaiser and UMP, have 24/7 nurse advice lines available to members.
Wait Time
When you seek medical advice, our nurses will triage your needs based on the urgency of your symptoms. If you have an urgent need, we will do our best to return your call as quickly as we can. If you have a health concern that is not urgent, there may be a longer wait.
Generally, expect a call back within two hours. Wait times may be longer depending on call volume.
Nurses vs. Providers
If you are ill or injured and seek medical advice at Husky Health, our nurses may encourage you to schedule an appointment with a health care provider. Nurses (RNs) are health care professionals who can provide advice but may not diagnose you, order lab tests, refer you to specialists, write prescriptions or perform procedures. While medical advice comes at no cost to current UW students, there may be costs associated with seeing a provider, depending on the services you receive and your insurance plan.
