Eligibility
Currently-enrolled UW Seattle students are eligible for no-cost medical advice by phone or in person. Established non-student patients are eligible for medical advice by phone only.
Wait time
When you seek medical advice by phone or in person, our nurses will triage your needs based on the urgency of your symptoms. If you have an urgent need, we will do our best to see you as quickly as we can. If you have a health concern that is not urgent, you may be asked to wait. In-person wait times vary and can be anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours.
If you choose to call for medical advice, expect to a call back within 2 hours.
Nurses vs. providers
If you are ill or injured and seek medical advice at Hall Health, our nurses may encourage you to schedule an appointment with a health care provider. Nurses (RNs) are health care professionals who can provide advice but may not diagnose you, order lab tests, refer you to specialists, write prescriptions, or perform procedures. While medical advice comes at no cost to current UW students, there may be costs associated with seeing a provider, depending on the services you receive and your insurance plan.
