Charisse Williams, PhD
Assistant Director/Training Director and Counseling Psychologist

How I work with students: As an existentialist, I help people make meaning out of their suffering, which is often caused by external forces like oppression and trauma. I view each person as a holistic, cultural human being that has unique and common experiences that have shaped worldview and values. Whereas we do not control what happens to us, we can control our response.
Professional interests: Anxiety, cultural issues, substance misuse, disordered eating, LGBTQ concerns, trauma, relationship problems, depression
Approach to wellness: Play! Also, being in nature, playing with my puppy Bishop, spending time with friends, theatre.
