ACT for Anxiety: A group that helped students manage anxiety by staying present and handling anxious thoughts and feelings. The program was based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model, a mindfulness-based therapy model focusing on embracing different emotions and living a value-based life.
Between Cultures: This ongoing group was for students who are connected to and identify with multiple cultures but struggled with finding a full sense of belonging to these cultures. The group focused on intersectional cultures and identities.
Getting Through Grief: This therapy group supported students dealing with the loss of loved ones. It was open to any student affected by grief and loss in their life.
Procrastination and Perfectionism: This group was for students who felt badly about how much they procrastinate or struggled with perfectionism. The focus was on managing these tendencies and improving productivity.
Tired But Wired: CBT for Insomnia (CBT-i): This group was for students struggling with sleep and insomnia. It helped members learn about sleep/insomnia, engage in self-assessments, learn behavioral and cognitive interventions, and prevent relapse of sleep issues.
Queer Tabletop Role Playing Game Group: This group was for students in the Queer community to engage in role-playing games as therapy. It allowed participants to build and role-play characters in a fantasy setting with their individual presenting concerns in mind.
Tabletop Role Playing Game Group: This group therapy allowed participants to build and role-play characters in a fantasy setting with their individual presenting concerns in mind. It focused on coping with social anxiety, practicing social skills, and addressing other mental health concerns.
Umoja: This interpersonal and support group prioritized the experiences and healing of Brown and Black women students. The group addressed sociopolitical and cultural concerns using a multicultural, intersectional, and social justice lens and framework. Topics included managing stress, cross-cultural communication, racial trauma, family responsibilities, and more.
Healing Through Art Therapy: This group used art to explore healing from stress and trauma, supporting each other in a group setting.
Mindfulness and Meditation: Both virtual and in-person groups were available. This group focused on teaching mindfulness and meditation techniques to help students manage stress and improve mental well-being.
