The workshops that Peer Health Educators facilitate are interactive, engaging, and meant to promote learning and dialogue amongst students in a peer-driven setting. Workshops can be requested for UW students by anyone- faculty, staff, students, registered student organizations, departments, etc. Request a workshop

Husky Mental Health (Students)
Explore the common emotional-mental experiences college students report, learn about the stress continuum, and reflect on ways to track and manage your own stress. Dialogue on the intersections and influencers of mental and emotional health, as well as what research says helps foster good mental health.
Husky Physical Health (Students)
Learn how sleep, movement, and our relationships with food impact our well-being. Learn skills for more intentional and effective ways of caring for our physical health, which impact our mental health and academic success!
Coping With The Clouds (Students)
Changes in the seasons, especially to darker and colder times of the year, can have impacts on our physical, mental, and emotional health. Learn about the science behind those changes and the skills to respond more successfully seasonal challenges.
Sleepy Husky (Students)
Learn the science behind sleep, how to develop an effective sleep hygiene routine, and the correlations between sleep, mental & physical health, and academic performance. Explore common myths and misperceptions about sleep and learn what can help improve your sleep to be a rested husky!
Heart Husky (Students)
What helps foster a healthy relationship? In this workshop, we talk about skills and practices that nurture trust, intimacy, and connection in romantic relationships- and how those skills apply to various forms of relationships in our life. We use interactive scenarios and discuss how finding “healthy” is a process of collaboration, awareness, and communication.
Alcohol Education (Students)
This presentation focuses on:
- Accurate statistics of use in college students
- How alcohol works in the body, brain, and impacts mood
- Tips for minimizing unintended and negative consequences of alcohol
- How to recognize Alcohol Overdose and what to do

Relationship & Sexual Violence Education (Students)
This workshop teaches the context and breadth of sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking in our society, and covers common impacts of these forms of interpersonal violence on individuals. The second half of the workshop covers ways to support a survivor from a peer perspective and the importance of confidential advocacy (and how to access it on campus!).
Helpful Huskies (Students)
Explore the motivations and reasons we often feel compelled to help, and why we sometimes choose not to help. Learn the social psychology behind bystander behavior why and when we choose to intervene or not in risky situations. Engage in peer dialogue and practice intervention skills to refine your ability to respond in risky situations and be a helpful husky!
Cannabis Education (Students)
Learn statistics about cannabis use amongst college students & the science of how THC and CBD work in the body. Explore strategies to minimize unwanted and negative effects from cannabis products, and the changes in cannabis products over the years.

SafeCampus trainings
Violence Prevention and Response
During this interactive training, we ask participants to consider their unique role in preventing violence at UW. We will explore warning signs of different forms of violence including a discussion of workplace violence, relationship violence, sexual harassment, stalking and suicide. We will expand your toolkit of response strategies by briefly practicing bystander intervention techniques and building your understanding of campus resources.

Building Healthy Workplaces: Community Prevention Strategies & Bystander Skills
This session will share prevention strategies that you can utilize to create workplaces that inhibit harassment and violence from occurring. We will focus on community strategies you can apply in your workplace and individual skill building. Participants will practice the skills of bystander intervention, micro-affirmations, calling in/out and receiving feedback. We discuss supporting survivors and resources available at UW.

Empowering Prevention and Inclusive Communities (EPIC)
This training is tailored to the unique dual role that Academic Student Employees play as both students and employees at UW. We will discuss how ASEs can create prevention focused culture change in academia. We will examine sexual harassment and discrimination and its impacts, provide space for individual and community skill building, and discuss supporting those who experience harassment.
