Shannon Bailie
Director
Shannon Bailie holds the position of Director of LiveWell at the University of Washington. With over 25 years of comprehensive experience in higher education as well as in medical and clinical settings, Shannon has successfully developed and implemented an innovative holistic program model at LiveWell. This model prioritizes strategic outreach, targeted interventions, and a thorough approach to health promotion and prevention education across the campus.
Additionally, Shannon has delivered brief intervention training on various college campuses, advocating for essential screenings related to alcohol and substance use, suicide prevention, and interpersonal violence. She has contributed to the discourse on college student health and wellness through publications, keynote addresses, and presentations focused on health promotion and intervention services.
Shannon began her professional journey in advocacy as the Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Specialist at the University of Washington, where she offered critical response and support services for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment, while also significantly contributing to prevention initiatives within the college environment.
Her clinical experience includes her roles in the Emergency Departments Harbor Medical Center and Swedish Hospitals, where she provided intervention and support to individuals facing mental health crises, substance use, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, suicidal ideation, chronic homelessness, and other urgent intervention needs.
