How I work with students: I help students identify how they are stuck in unhelpful patterns that are preventing them from meeting their goals and living a meaningful life. I help students break those patterns and meet their goals by using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help students learn skills such as acceptance, mindfulness, stress management, values clarification, committed action towards values, and shifting unhelpful thinking.
Professional interests: I’m especially interested in working with students who are struggling with anxiety, stress, trauma, imposter syndrome, oppression (e.g., sizism, sexism, racism), conflicts in personal or professional relationships, and difficulties with the thesis or dissertation process.
Approach to wellness: I enjoy walking while listening to podcasts, watching hummingbirds on my patio as a way of being in the present moment, reading, and baking all kinds of sweets.
