Steps to Schedule Your First Session
What to Expect at your First Session
First Session Paperwork
For your first session you will be asked to complete paperwork. One of these documents is the Informed Consent and Notice of Privacy Practices. It is designed to help you understand what you can expect from treatment and how we safeguard your privacy.
You will also be asked to complete an intake form that will give us more information about the concerns you have.
You will also be asked to complete measures that are designed to assess symptoms you may be experiencing.
Other Options
If you aren’t ready to make an appointment to speak with a mental health professional, or if there are no appointment times available that meet your needs, you can also meet with a provider without an appointment through Let’s Talk.
Let’s Talk
Let’s Talk connects UW students to 1-1 support from experienced mental health counselors without an appointment.
UW Students also have 24/7 access to care for urgent and crisis situations through the Husky Helpline
