Cost and Insurance

Who is eligible for services?

Students currently enrolled in degree-seeking programs at the UW Seattle campus and who are located in the state of Washington are generally eligible for services at the Counseling Center. Because the Counseling Center is funded through tuition and the Services and Activities Fee (SAF), students outside this central funding structure are not eligible for counseling services. These students are still welcome to call us to request assistance with referrals to resources in the local community.

We serve current UW students, even if they don’t have insurance.

If you have insurance, UWCC will bill your insurance. Any patient responsibility for cost-sharing will be aggregated and billed to the Services and Activities Fee (SAF).  This means that there is no out–of–pocket cost to you for counseling services, because you have already paid the SAF as part of tuition and fees.

Psychiatry is an expensive specialty service. The patient is responsible for any cost not covered by insurance.

Please go to the UWCC patient portal at https://uwccportal.pointnclick.com to upload a copy of your insurance card. Students must upload a copy of their insurance prior to having an appointment.

For students who are physically out of state and/or for any student who is in crisis:

UW Students can use Husky Helpline resources to get access to real-time, confidential mental health and crisis intervention support, 24/7 and in multiple languages through Telus (formerly MySSP). There are several ways to connect:
