Frank

Hello! My name is Frank, and I use he/him pronouns. I am a third-year student studying psychology and economics. Outside of school, I love running, reading, baking, and teaching. I come from a family of educators, so naturally I was drawn to teaching, making my work as a Peer Health Educator fulfilling. College is a time like no other; it fosters curiosity, grows new relationships, and fills us with knowledge, but it also can create worry, stress, and discomfort. Understanding the resources and support all Huskies have on campus may aid in making college a more rewarding experience. I wholeheartedly believe that seeking out help is a sign of strength. As a PHE, I aim to provide fellow Huskies with evidenced-based skills, knowledge, and resources to cultivate a healthy well-being. I am also excited to give back to our UW community in such an important and meaningful way. I look forward to working with you all to make our UW community safer, healthier, and happier.

Meheq

Hi everyone! My name is Meheq (meh-heck), I use she/her pronouns, and I’m currently a junior studying Public Health. In my free time, you’ll probably find me painting, studying at a cafe, or spending time with friends. You’ll also see me around campus promoting health and wellness as a Peer Health Educator!

As a Peer Health Educator, I’m passionate about improving wellness systems and being a supportive, authentic role model for others. Health and well-being are crucial to every aspect of our lives—physical health, productivity, academic performance, relationships, and emotional well-being. I believe that finding a healthy, balanced lifestyle is not a fixed destination but a continuous journey we’re all on.

As a Peer Wellness Coach, I aim to bring cultural awareness, empathy, and inclusivity into everything I do. My goal is to create open and supportive spaces where everyone feels heard and valued. You’re in the driver’s seat of your wellness journey, and my role is to listen, guide, and support you along the way. I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and building meaningful connections with you all!

Karen

Hello! My name is Karen, I use she/her pronouns and am a junior majoring in MCD biology. I am on the pre-med track, and I enjoy learning about how we can use both science and empathy to improve our own lives and the lives of people around us! In my free time, I like spending time with friends and family, running outdoors, and cooking new recipes. I enjoy working as a Peer Health Educator because I love to be involved in my university community and learn about how to promote our wellbeing as college students. This theme is at the heart of many of the messages we spread as peer health educators. College can be a time of a lot of transition and uncertainty. Sharing tools on how to balance stress and responsibilities, build healthy relationships, and take care of our health is important to me, because as students we are all on the same team as we transition into adulthood and figure out our place in the world.

As a Peer Wellness Coach, I am excited to work one-on-one with students to help achieve any goals regarding interpersonal relationships, school-life balance, or anything pertaining to their overall wellbeing! My intention is to help break down large goals into small steps that can make a big difference. My hope is that our sessions will help you better understand what skills and techniques can best fit your life, and can guide us in working together to create a way of achieving your goals that is not only maintainable, but enjoyable!
