What to Expect

Unsure what to expect from your appointment with the Counseling Center? No worries! We encourage you to make an appointment with the counseling center to go over your concerns with a mental health professional and to discuss with them what resources might be best for you.

Common reasons students come to therapy, but not limited to: 

  • Lack of motivation
  • Romantic relationship problems or breakups
  • Stress management
  • Problems with roommate, friends, or family
  • Adjusting to college (homesickness or cultural differences)
  • Exploring sexual or gender identity
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Substance use or concerns
  • Loss of a loved one
  • Sexual assault or harassment
  • Loneliness and making friends
