Shannon Bailie
Director
Shannon Bailie is Director of Livewell at the University of Washington and has worked in education, medical and clinical, settings as well as extensively with institutions of higher education. Professionally, Shannon began working in 2005 as the Sexual Assault & Relationship Violence Information Specialist, providing both response and support to survivors of assault, as well as being actively involved in prevention efforts in the college setting. In 2007, Shannon became the Director of Livewell (formerly Health & Wellness) at UW and formed a holistic program addressing the overlap of multiple health issues on college campuses through education, prevention, intervention, and strategic outreach. Livewell offers evidence-based services to students on a variety of issues, including; suicide prevention, alcohol and other drug education, sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, harassment advocacy and education, and peer education. Shannon has also been involved in the provision of brief intervention trainings on college campuses, including recent efforts to promote screening for alcohol, suicide, interpersonal violence. She has published on college student health and wellness issues, provided keynote addresses and other invited presentations focusing on ways to bridge the gap between research, what science says is effective and best practices on campus.
