Shannon Bailie
Director
Shannon Bailie serves as the Director of LiveWell at the University of Washington. With over 25 years of extensive experience in higher education, as well as in medical and clinical environments, Shannon has successfully developed and implemented an innovative, holistic program model at LiveWell. This model emphasizes strategic outreach, targeted interventions, and comprehensive health promotion and prevention education across the campus.
In addition, Shannon has provided brief intervention training on various college campuses, promoting essential screenings for alcohol and substance use, suicide, and interpersonal violence. She has published on college student health and wellness topics, and provided keynote addresses and presentations focusing on college health promotion and intervention services.
Shannon began her career in advocacy as the Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence Specialist at the University of Washington, where she provided critical response and support services for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment, while also playing a key role in prevention initiatives within the college environment.
Her clinical experience includes her work at the Harbor Medical Center Emergency Department and Swedish Hospitals, where she assisted individuals facing mental health crises, substance use issues, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, suicidal ideation, chronic homelessness, and other urgent crisis intervention needs.
