How I work with students: My theoretical orientation is grounded in social constructionist and positive psychological perspectives. It is further framed within a multicultural and social justice lens, with an empowerment emphasis on marginalized and minority populations. With this orientation, I am enthusiastic about probing clients’ personal, interpersonal, and multicultural positive psychological resources (e.g., strengths, values, identity, passion) and encouraging them to project, pursue, and make progress on their life goal pursuit.
Professional interests: personal growth/existential issues, interpersonal/relationship issues, psychopathology, development and identity, gender and sexuality, international and immigration status, multicultural concerns, religion, spirituality, and philosophy, resilient and optimal functioning
Approach to wellness: I believe that everyone can achieve resilient and optimal psychological functioning by personally, interpersonally, and multiculturally reconnecting to their positive psychological resources (e.g., strengths, values, identity, passion) and by being motivated and directed by valued life goals, even in face of difficulties. I personally am devoted to pursuing my valued life goals. I also like spending time to enjoy Seattle’s sceneries, foods, cultures, and coffee.
