Mindfulness Groups and Workshops
BEGINNING MINDFULNESS (Mindfulness 101)
An 8 week practice and discussion oriented group that helps people calm and soothe their nervous systems, looking at different aspects of mindfulness, and sharing thoughts about the practice. We look at groundedness, loving kindness, self compassion, gratitude, and dealing with difficult emotions.
Time: Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Online

Duration: Eight weeks

ONGOING NOON MINDFULNESS
Hour long sessions at noon Wednesdays and Thursdays, where experienced mindfulness practitioners gather to practice mindfulness together, currently over zoom. Silent settling practice lasts about 20 minutes and is followed by a guided meditation, and sharing of observations.
Time: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Duration: Eight weeks
Who: Students who have completed Beginning MindfulnessM group or are experienced mindfulness practitioners.

Yoga for Healing (Spring Quarter)

This class supports students in regaining empowerment and cultivating inner resilience and a sense of wholeness. Through movement and sharing, you will work toward a sense of comfort within your body as you non-verbally process thoughts, feelings, and sensations that show up.
This class is for anyone navigating the effects of:
- Verbal abuse
- Self-harm
- Disordered eating
- Deep depression
- Sexual assault
- Domestic violence
In-Person & Virtual Yoga and Meditation Classes
UW Recreation offers yoga and meditation classes, workshops and special events designed to support body, mind and heart. Get ready to experience more moments of reflection, clarity, empowerment and connection in your daily life.
- Our classes are open to everyone regardless of yoga/meditation experience, flexibility or current fitness level.
- We also offer workshops like Yoga Basics, Mediation for Stress-Free Living, Prenatal Yoga and Nutrition Building Blocks.
- Our REC CLASS PASS is available for students and provides unlimited yoga and fitness classes for the whole quarter at the IMA, around campus, and online.
- Faculty & Staff can also purchase a pass.
